A “Korean Pavilion” will be installed to introduce domestic startups at the largest startup conference in North America, “Tech Crunch Disrupt.”

KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), Korea Information Technology Research Institute, and AI (Artificial Intelligence) Yang Jae-Hub announced on the 18th (local time) that they will open a Korean pavilion at the “Tech Crunch Disrupt” in San Francisco for three days and introduce 20 domestic startups.

Unlike general exhibitions and conferences, this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt, which was held offline for the first time in three years since 2019, will focus on pitching and networking events. In line with this, KOTRA has also recruited participating startups since September and conducted one-on-one mentoring to review English pitching skills, review funding strategies, and verify suitability in the product and service market.

First of all, seven companies in the fields of Deep Tech, Machine Learning, Semiconductor, and Food Tech will conduct technology pitching at the ‘Pitching Session on the 18th.’ Later, at the pitching on the 20th, eight companies will introduce domestic technologies related to robotics, AI, SaaS (service-type software), and NFT (irreplaceable token).

In addition, KOTRA and AI Yangjae Hub will hold a networking reception between 150 domestic startups and local investors and related organizations to help participating startups engage in local marketing and investment attraction activities.

“TechCrunch Disrupt is a good opportunity for startups wishing to enter the U.S. market to find suitable local partners and build references,” said Yoo Jung-yeol, president of KOTRA. “We will actively support innovative technology startups to enter the overseas market in the future.”
