Starbucks will unveil its coffee-themed non-replaceable token (hereinafter referred to as NFT).

According to Decrypt and TechCrunch in the U.S. on the 4th, Starbucks will announce its plan to enter the NFT and blockchain-based Internet (Web 3.0) area through the “Investor’s Day” event on September 13th (local time).

Starbucks is reportedly planning to build a customer reward program using NFT. Currently, consumers can purchase from an app or Starbucks store to acquire stars and switch to practical rewards such as free drinks. TechCrunch reported that the new NFT is expected to be integrated as part of this reward program.

Earlier this year, Starbucks said, “NFT will not only serve as a digital collection, but also provide owners with access to exclusive content and other benefits.” Its strategy is to attract young consumers through Web3 (Web3.0)-based loyalty programs.

“We are working on digital initiatives based on existing industry-leading digital platforms in innovative and new ways,” said Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks.
